2012 NORTH AMERICAN SNOWBIKE NATIONALS

Were in washington would be a good local

This is going to be like the Dakar Rally Race, but in stages over time for snowbikes and it offers different styles of competition and skills. Each race offers something different to the racers and they can form teams to compete as well.
The Switch Enduro will be a race from snow to desert. Racers will have to convert their snowbike back to dirtbike for the sencond half of the race as well as reach all the checkpoints.

jl, once I get my bike done we will have to meet up and ride. custom snowbike style

great

That is great I have a friend from cambridge area and he is a snowbike freak. Raced his snowbike last year on a winter hare scramble. Its on and i will do my best to be there. just sold another kit in Mn yesterday fun fun

And where in BC were you thinking of doing this event? I know we'll have a good turn out here, but it's a matter of picking the right spot.

J&l, I am about 15 miles from camebridge!! I guess I will have to try to hook up with him too

I think it should be on the mainland, not Vancouver Island. The Island simply is too expensive to travel to.

I think the Coquihalla area between Hope and Merritt is easily accessable by 90% of the population in BC.

With that said, on another note.. I think the idea of switch race is the worst idea I've ever heard of. I bought a dedicated bike just to ride my 2moto with.. I'm not about to pay money to try and rush through a conversion. I'm sure many of the older guys would agree with me, who wants to do that out in the cold under pressure to get it done quick? Scrap that idea.

I agree with this, just does not sound fun. Now maybe switching bikes completely would be ok but not changing over, but I doubt many people have two bikes.

I would agree that a converted sled guy only having one bike, But a bike guy always has a few backups. I had to build a 14x36 loft in my shop just to get some floor space. Looked like a used bike shop before.

Thanks for the input and will definitely reconsider the switchout race to maybe an enduro in Nevada
does anyone have feedback on if they are interested in an enduro across WA, ID, and MT? Somthing like a 400 mile race with several check points through the mountains?

A 400 mile race on a mountain horse, that has a top speed of 40mph = 10+ hours of road/trail riding. No thanks. You might get some interest, but not my cup of tea.
