Do the shock spacers that come with the 38in kit have to be installed ? How would it work if I left the shocks alone and if I have someone install the spacers about how much does it cost?

You coming from 40 or 42?
from 40 you don't need it at all, and from 42 you need a 1" spacer. Both of these will net you a little more droop in the front end, you'll need to decrease PSI slightly to get a similar ride.
If you do the skid drop as well, the two go together very nicely.

It is a 40 inch ski stance and I have dropped the the rear suspension
