2012 m11000 Pop and started smoking

So I went for a ride the other day. Was running alright then went to pull a hill and it would sputter/pop also only pull 7400rpm. After a few time on the hill the last pull the sled made a pop(like a innercooler boot blew) but started oil smoking really bad. Also oil coming out of the exhaust. Any one have any ideas what could have happened?

Sounds like the turbo **** the bed.

The pulling 7400 RPM is typical for a massive boost leak or no boost, and oil out the exhaust sounds like a seal in the turbo.

I would look around on HardcoreSledder.com. The 1100T has a strong contingent there, and you'd likely have a better chance of finding a used one. I personally would throw a used one at it.

Most likely the turbo. I’ve personally been in a pickup when a turbo blows. Yes, two different applications but it’s that loud pop sound and oil out of the exhaust.
D&D racing sells a bigger turbo then stock but not sure on your application.

Finally got to tear into it. The compressor wheel nut fell off.

Hope you found the nut. Dont just put it back on, turbo is now out of balance. Either replace turbo or send it for repair.

Pretty sure the shaft snapped when the nut lodged itself into the wheel. So it’s done for.

Did you find the nut? It could have gone into the engine if not.......
