2012 chevy 1500

I was wondering if anyone has done some towing a four place trailer with one? The chevy with the trailer package, 3.42 gears and the 5.3 liter motor. and what kind of mpg you get loaded and unloaded? any input would be nice

I used to have an 09 with the 5.3 and 3.73 rear end, 6 speed trans.

I could get 17-20 mpg at 65-70mph and 24 or 25 mpg on good days going a little slower and/or riding behind trucks. As soon as I stopped driving like an ******* my average mileage shot from 16 to 20.

Towed a loaded 14 enclosed quite a few times(not full of sleds, just moving stuff) and would usually get 10-11 mpg. Fully loaded that truck does not like 6th gear, sometimes 5th. And if youre riding at altitude it really doesnt like 6th gear, even empty.

I bought my diesel and have not looked back once.

well i just borrowed my neighbors new chevy, hooked it up to a four place trailer with only 2 sleds on it and took off. the brakes are real good since trailer brakes werent hooked up, hit the interstate on not real happy. power not better then my 97 chevy and never left 4th gear and only hit 5th going down hill.tried it in tow mode and out same thing.dont think of cruicing at 75mph it was happy at 68mph tops. looking for a new dodge to hook on my trailer to see how it does

The new dodge's aren't very stable pulling trailers since they went with their new rear suspension. Plenty of power but a little squirly.
