Polaris is bringing the all new 2011 out West for demo so speculation should end soon. I believe they hit ID in late Feb. Hopefully a SWer will post pic's from the first event so the rest of us can see.
SkiDoo has introduced their DI 800, a shortie will be in the snow soon-it gained about 20#'s in weight.

The spec sheet on the 800 E-Tec does show a weight increase. However, the mid-season E-Tec comes standard with electric start and this is where the majority of the weight comes from.
Taking the electric start out of the equation, the E-Tec gained approximately 5 lbs from the new electronics.
The Summit E-Tec prototypes will be out in the west around the same time, lets hope we get to see some head to head comparisons. Well, thats if we can get some decent snow!

I thought the spec sheet showed a 30# increase with Estart. Is Estart 25#'s or more like 10#'s?

Those batteries alone weigh at least 10 lbs. Anyone got a YTX9 that they can throw on a scale?
Im guessing it comes out at 11-12 lbs.

The doo is short track only so you wont see a e-tec summit till next year. It gained around 20# but it goes over 160hp at sea level also supposedly. Also 17 mpg ? I dont know, my sled gets about 5 mpg. Alot of doo guys are saying buy a 2010 if you want a runner that you can mod, the efi complicates the sh*% out of things as us dragon owners know.

I'd think that they would try to grab the top 800 hp spot once again with the etec but I've heard that those injectors are about as maxed out as they can go and you won't pull much more power out of them. also it makes a turbo application much harder if the injectors won't comply.

Is there a list of all the appearances that the demo tour will make? I might need to plan a trip for one of these dates if so.

Well, dropping the 700 would just be flat stupid..best motor they make right now.
I really hope we see 2 things, one for sure is more power..it needs to make at least 165-170 and have ZERO issues, and knock off at least 25-30 lbs.

But with so so many 2010's sittin unsold Im thinkin new decals and few changes.:(

Sounds like even more problems there. Sounds good though!

I think all of us would like to have ZERO issues, but lets face it: if a small engine puts out that kind of HP, it is bound to have issues here and there.
