So I took my sled out to day even though we don't have much snow just to hear what the HPS can under power sounds like!! Put on about a 1/2 mile never even had a area big enough to much more then crack it and let off!! Sled sounded great and ran great. Pulled up by the trailor and let it sit for a couple of hours while the kids rode there sleds. Went to load it and took three pulls(one more then normal!!) started idealed at 1150 RPMS for a few seconds and then killed and will not even fire now!!! Just had it at a dealer ship this fall and they replaced drive spring set my tps and replaced my exhaust seals.
Sled ran great last year only problem was fouled a few sets of plugs last year, did put fresh gas into day before i rode, acting just like my 08 700 did when it had a ground short. Will be heading back to dealership on Monday and they better cover it under warrenty!! If anyone has any ideas of what it could be i would love to hear them.
Thanks Darren

Was so pissed I didn't even mess with it and it was getting dark so I will throw a set of plugs in it!! Oh by the way the dealership threw a new set of plugs in this fall, just acted different then it did when it has fouled plugs before would usually start fine and then lose a cylinder!!

Siphon your fuel and replace it with fresh. I see you are in MN and the fuel here sucks. Have seen many sleds come in with year old fuel that won't run. Newfuel, no problem. had a Phazer that worked fine when warm, but after the temps dropped, had to be cycled about 20 or so times to get it to fire. Cats that wouldn't start at all, and even a few Polaris CFI motors that once they had fresh fuel ran just fine. Also, try to get 91 neat (no alcohol) if you can. E10 is seeing pahse seperation in as early as 40 days after refining and blending. The only way you will get the 91 in this state, is to look for pumps that say off road only.

not the fuel had very little good premuim (no eth)with stable in it over the summer and put eth free premium in yesterday

How long did you let it idle before you touched the throttle at all? What was the engine temp when you got on it? I'll foul a plug now and then if I get in a hurry to unload or whatever, especially when the OAT is cold and the sled was cold. Now I just wait. I don't care if I have to move it 10' under power, I don't touch the throttle until I see triple digits on the temp gauge. On a cold start, I'll also shut it off and let the heat soak for 5 min before I ride if I'm not just f'n around. This practice is good not matter what, but I quit fouling plugs. Just my .02 on this.

I think part of that is ngk plugs..seems to me polaris sleds just dont like them ..champions just seem to run much better...

Is the RN57YCC champion plug ok to use in the pro. Is that the correct crossover from stock ngk plug. Champions are made in USA so would rather use them.

Just a long shot, but the throttle safety switch can cause problems similar to this. If you shut if off while on the throttle a little, or you accidentally push the throttle lever in without it pulling on the cable, it could cause the thing to not fire. I think if you pull full throttle once then try and start it, it will reset the switch. Again, long shot, but worth a try.

Big D:

Sounds like you have a plug fouling problem. Maybe your dealer needs to zero in on that. If you keep changing plugs and they keep fouling, one would think you're getting too much oil. What do your plugs look like when you pull them? Just haven't seen much chatter about guys continually fouling plugs on this site. Let us know what you find out. Inquiring minds want to know.

New set of plugs this morning fired right up!! This is the sixth set I have fouled in 1500 miles and told dealer this also seems to smoke a lot, sled does not seem to take more oil then my buddies 800's however it did just start smoking at the end of the year and the new plugs that I pulled seemed really oily looking for new plugs!! Will be calling dealer on Monday to let them know about it!!!

When you say that it doesn't use more oil than your buddie's 800's, are they older? The Pros use way less oil than my 08 800. This could definitely be your issue if so.

Fouled

Been there done that on my 11 last year. It's definitely fouling plugs. Mine did the same thing. You are in the bad injector club.. Something to do with the idle and the injectors will foul the plugs.. My dealer warrantied the injectors and it ran fine after that.. Hope that helps... Most dealers won't admit or address the injector problem but that is what it is.:face-icon-small-con

Sometimes it is not what you know!! It's who you know!!! New Injectors ordered!!!

Same thing happened to my buddies assault. New injectors and never fouled a plug since.
