2011 pro rmk top end bog and fouling plugs.

i have a 2011 pro rmk. this fall did a compression test to find both cylinders low on compression. so i installed a terra alps piston fix kit with shim. 13.5:1 head and also some minor porting on exhaust. 165 psi compression now. but wont stop fouling plugs and loads up over 6500 and fouls plugs right away. does anyone have any advice or and ideas to check would be great. sled ran awesome with no problems before engine was freshened up. thanks

Injectors sticking. Went through that with mine. Got them warranteed and then the did it again. Second time it did it the sled went up in flames.

However. Yours didn't do it before the build and acts up at 6500. Makes me think exhaust valves aren't opening.

what kind of porting work was done ,who did it, and was it compatible with the kit that was put in. if you did the the port work your self you may have just bought your self a cylinder, not trying to offend you . just hope that that's not what happened.

porting was done by terra alps. he has lots of ported pros on the snow. iv narrowed it down to the pto side very rich fowling plug. iv changed the egt probe bc was out of spec. also replaced injectors tried changing plug wires and the dead hole stays on the pto side.

I was told by a Polaris mechanic that you have to replace the injectors and the fuel pump at the same time. I am not saying I am correct. Just what I was told.:face-icon-small-dis

had a fuel controler on at first but removed with no change. tryed known good ecm and voltage regulator with no change. possibly reids ?

Might check the stator, I had one lose one of the pole sensors and it ran all sorts of weird...pretty simple test with an ohm meter...

There have been a few cases where the wiring harness running from the ECM to the fuel injectors grounds out. Depending on which wire(s) does ground out and when can lead to intermittent issues.

I would also be checking fuel pressure and verify the regulator in the fuel pump isn't sticking and or verifying the exhaust valves are opening.

so im stumped. iv changer pipe sensor, tried new injectors, checked wiring harness multiple times, tried known good ecm, voltage regulator and have tested out both coils. any advice would be excellent. also checked fuel pressure and is 60psi. always fowls pto side and when remove plug is soaked with fuel.

sled...check the reed valves..I bet the one has a broken petal..also while you are in there, use a multi meter and check the stator readings..

what should the stator be putting out ? and can't you check at the voltage regulator ? i haven't checked the reeds yet but. it has burnt 1/2 a tank in 20 miles which to me tells that its injecting way to much fuel. thanks for all your info everyone.

If the sled runs fine up to 6500 rpm then it's not the reeds as you'd notice that even at idle. I'm guessing it's the exhaust valves - prob didn't put the hoses on tight after the rebuild, plugged cylinder orifice, damaged bellows or solenoid? Almost always an exhaust valve problem if the issue is only at the higher rpm's.

Have FUN!

removed exhaust valves and all check out good. sled is still running on one cylinder. the pto cylinder is completely soaked and will not fire.

I have a 2011 also and am having the same issues. I have already changed the coils, plug wires, voltage regulator, cdi box, injectors and also swapped out the ecu with a buddy of mine. however my sled always fouls the mag side. Don't know what else, mabe the stator

MAG PLUG FOULING

I've also got a '11 Pro fouling plugs, almost always the mag side but sometimes both. Tried changing coils, ECU, pipe sensor, intake sensor, unplugging boondocker box, nothing helps. Sled will make power with new pugs @ 1/2 throttle for a minute, but above that it pukes on the MAG side. Tore off heads and pistons look over oiled, cylinder walls are fine. Exhaust valves are oozing oil when removed. Could the oiler be stuck open?
