Am I right in using Polaris 10-68 for Michigan riding? Sending my clutch to Indy Specialties to be balanced and I'm going to have them swap the weights for our altitude. Am I correct with these? Thanks.

No Problem!!

I just went though this about 2 weeks ago...

keep us posted on the condition up there... so i can go up when it gets deep!!

I just got my clutches (pro rmk) back from a machine shop and the primary was out 6.5 and secondary was out 4 even. I thought that was alot. (just a side note)

I picked up 10-66 for Mich, and 10-60's for out West. The Polaris Clutch weight chart that came with my sled shows 10-66 for 600 to 1200 feet, Most of My Michigan riding is anywhere from 650, to 1000 feet. Where we ride out West is anywhere from 8000 to 10000, and calls for the 10-60's We will see how things go.

I think you read the chart wrong. The 600-1200 is in meters. You want (0-2000) feet which calls for 10-68's. Correct me if I'm wrong. I am looking at the chart now.

What he said. You'll be underclutched with 10-66's at 1200 feet, and overrev wit the stock spring. By the look of the dyno charts, underrev is better than overrev with the pro poo.

my SB Assault came with 10-66s and i thought for altitude it called for 10-58s... same motor right? i guess the gearing would be different, would that make up the difference? i'll look at my chart again this afternoon tho

dumb question but maybe you can confirm for me. Just picked up the Pro RMK 800 last week from my local dealer in MN. Shouldn't the sled have clutch weights for flatlands already? Or do I need to get flatland weights. Would have been nice if the dealer would have mentioned this to me. Thanks

Your sled is clutched for out west you have to pick up weights for here in Mn or just watch your rpms. I usually don't worry to much about re clutching for Mn unless we have a good winter!!! Last winter was the first year I reclutched for Mn in over 5 years. The little riding I do around here doesn't justify it on most years!!!!

yes A good dealer will switch them out..

poor dealer gets you out the door the fastest!

you will need to put 10-68 weights in!

I live in AK and most of our riding is from 0-3000 ft, my 2010 D8 came stock with 10-68's, this is the correct weight to run.

I had mine rebalanced also about 3 weeks ago, and they were off by roughly the same amounts yours was. The guy said thats what the polaris clutches are usually off by. Some are worse, some are a little better, but thats the norm.

Throw some weight at that baby. Polaris uses two grams less than I like.

 Dang metric system, anyone want a new set of 10-66's:face-icon-small-dis

Thanks Napa Matt & Big D rmk700! I pulled back the covers and sure enough 62's were installed. I went to the dealer to pick up my accessories (red skid plate/low pro windsheild) and grabbed the sales guy. His words "oh yea I should have mentioned that when you picked it up". I now have a set of 68's for MN riding. Looking forward to some real pull on the next outing. I'll use the 62's for my trip out west in January.
