Mine has 5kplus miles. Just fyi.......
Ran perfect in the lot. Left Manashtash snopark, up to barber springs rd last saturday. 8" fresh powder. Ran good up to apex of road, right where jeep trail goes to manashtash lake, about 8 miles up, maybe less. As we went right to the trail up the steep hill towards manashtash lake trail, I thought I heard a "tinging", like someone tossed my wedding band into the muffpot. I figured it was my brain, so I stopped and cracked the side panels......nothing....yet there was a definite "ting" on star and stop. We switched sleds and I rode the m6. He rode the pro. When we hit bald mtn, he (the pro) lost power do
wn to 75pct and had to turn out. The M6 made it,,,,,,duh.......
So we do some riding on the flats this side of Canteen, and by the time we switch back, we're still 20 miles out and it feels like the jackshaft bearing is out. She runs, but I need 1/4 throttle to move it and the pinging is like hearing ball bearings in a clay pot bouncing around. I let it cool down to under 100degree. Fire her up and it takes over 1/2 throttle to move......... im thinking jackshaft bearings are bad,yet speedo works, so I hammer it....... it feels like im towing a boat behind me. I let off and the pinging is the same but the "pull" on the motor is like i'm crossing a lake. We decide to hammer to the parking lot full speed, so I pin it,full throttle buried. Top speed is 46mph, never riding more than 1 ski, sliding corners, terrified to let off. As I came to a crest in the forest road, I drop to about 15mph, throttle buried..... now im not a sled mechanc but I know im burning mass fuel, so now I know its either a clutch dragging me down or a bearing locking me up. I say whatev and race back. Hit the truck at full throttle,23 mph and barely got it up the ramp.. larsons said pto crank side bad. It's at pierres now for rebuild. Lucky for me I had an M6 on my six. ...ha!!!!!
I'll rebuild for $2k and sell for $7k.. but moderator will DELETE this and tell me to post in swap meet!!!!!!
