2011 Polaris 800

155" track
6 psi of boost

I had chaincase... stitched to belt drive stock Polaris 13-15

But also changed the drivers to No Slip Drivers 7 tooth

If my math is right i went from a 2.09 ratio to about 2.38

Running a Indy Dan Mountain #1 helix

going to switch it out for the Turbo 3 #

also this is mainly rode at 1500 ft to 2000ft.. once a year going out west

Any one ran both helix ??

Hoping for the #3 to pull much harder as the gear ratio is not loading the engine and turbo

Or

Do i switch out my drivers to go back to 8 tooth to get back to my 2.09 ratio

Any one with real world info?

Thoughts ...

I’m running the turbo extreme helix and it makes high early trackspeed sooo much better than the mountain 1.

Your gearing should be good. (Same as mine)

I ride 0-3k most of the time.

I am running an older 8 tooth avod 3.0p driver with 3" cat power claw 153. Ice Age Billet drop and roll chaincase (avid). I have room to clear a 9 tooth...!? I don't think a 7 tooth is going to efficiently spin the track as well as an 8 or 9. Those extroverts are nice and wouldn't run without em, howver driving the track off those nubs is ideal! Probably switching to 3.5 after this winter, maybe run a alpha cat track and driver. NOW

I am running aa stock chain, hyvo, 71 link IIRC- 43/19 for a 2.263 ratio. The track has 51 windows/ 8T driver . With the 7t driver i would be limited to about 78 mph. 8 Tooth would be 85 mph, and 94 mph rounding out a 9 tooth driver. This is all relative. I DON't need to ever go 70mph on my mountain sled, but that track speed difference is QUITE a lot! How that equates to real world? Erroneous and error to far too many variables!

The trend is going towards a 2.25-2.4 or so Final Drive ratio on mountain sleds while trail performers tend to be 1.8-2.0. @NapaMatt that change you have calculated is a substantial gearing change. Different helix angles i suspect would be needed as well as POSSIBLY changing the fuel map / strategy. Post back on how you feel it performs!

I have ridden it with the 7 tooth.. it works..

But the 8tooth. Loads the turbo and gives the sled long legs back again which i enjoy

Back on indy dans turbo #1 helix for now

You didn’t like the turbo #3?

I heard it was about halfway between the mtn 1 and turbo extreme.

Man 7tooth is getting small. I have two 8 in 3p and 9 in 2.86 from avid.

I have some 7t 2.52 wahl bro drivers I ordered for a skidoo mod that didn't get touched 2 seasons now (lol) and the drivers are SO TINY!

Honestly thinking I can clear a 2.5 skidoo track in my cmx chassis with a 9 tooth 3p so if anyone has this hanging out lmk before I make the boys at avid busy!
