2011 NWGC BAKER SHOOTOUT

The 2011 NWGC Baker Shootout is officially scheduled for Saturday April 09th!

Mark your calendars and plan on getting there early. This will be the biggest to date. Many major sponsors have caught wind of this and are already booking their spots to be a part of the event of the season. Details to come.

See you guys/gals on the Hill!

Would be cool if someone could groom a section, not for racing but for speed comparisons:)

Haha :thumb: They've talked about it in the past but once they put there name on it, the insurance becomes an issue.

Whatever "unofficially happens" is not subject to club liability.

Someone would just need to need to take it on and mark out the area. People on the hill would figure out really quick what's happening and participate.

Hey guys,
Allready talkin baker shoot out, thats cool. I think it would be great to find a hill worth racing on, you cant even throttle through the top of the hill, it's to short and it ends with a peak, and a drop off. I think alot more people would be willing to race there machines if there was a worthy hill to race on. you guys with the big horse power need a lot of room to showcase those things and I want to see it. its a fun event, lets see some big HP in action.

Once again it is the same weekend as the Desert 100 poker run/race...........:face-icon-small-dis

To bad the desert 100 is the same weekend, I know a ton of people that wont make it now. We definitely need to set up a good spot to run, hopefully we get the same weather as last year!

Seems like every weekend is a conflict for someone and sometimes they just gotta book it.

The NWGC selected their weekend about 5 years ago and have been consistent every year.

The weekend before is Easter and the weekend after is past the last day off grooming.

Maybe the Desert 100 could move forward a week:bump2:

The shootout is always a great time and the turn out just keeps getting to be more and more.

Maybe you should inquire on what it takes for the Stumpies to have 7,000 (yes I said 7,000!) people on one weekend and the planning that goes into it...... I bet they spend more on Sani cans than it costs to put on the shootout.....:pound:

I know alot of people that will be at the 100 that would love to go to the Baker gathering. The 100 is an Staple around here since 1969!!...... Never miss it.

Hey Grounder-

Thanks for your enthusiasm and support for a club of volunteers that do nothing but support our recreational activity and fight to the state level keep our areas open for you and your friends to enjoy. I appreciate your comments and feedback.

The club could use more people like you to tell it like it is. Tactful comments and respect for ones efforts is highly over rated. More folks should take note and learn to perpetuate an unsolicited negative spin like you do. Buzzkills rule!

To think that the club had the gall to schedule a springtime event that works for them, the forest service, all of the local and national sponsors, state grooming program and many of snowmobilers without consulting you is just criminal.

I look forward to your witty comments and hope you have a great and safe season.

Your truly :first:

AJ

A lot of us might like to go...

Kind of scared away from the potential ZOO, especially if you don't get there Tuesday night at 1 am :face-icon-small-win...

But it kind of sounded like it might be fairly organized???

Can you elaborate on a typical traveler interested in coming (early) Saturday morning if possible? I mean (depending on snow/road conditions) is there a way to get to an unload spot and then some sort of parking, even if far away, that is legal… stuff like that…

Thanks, looks and sounds like a great-get together.
