Had a 2009 pumpgas kit that worked exellent great throttle responce, minimal turbo lag. Installed a pg boondocker on a 2011 m8 with intercooler and the lag is too much. throttle responce is not even close to the 2009 with out the intercooler. Is it the intercooler that is causeing this or clutching and fueling. It runs great and pulls hard from half throttle on but not good enough before that.Any sugestions?

I would definitely check the reeds. The kits with the intercooler seem to have a bit more lag, but the 2010 head is tighter and should even things out from the 2009 that you are used to.

need info

what #s are you running what is your cr set at, fuel, alt booost. which boost actuator are you using.

psi

if your'e only running 4-4.5 lbs and you have secondary injectors turned on you're pouring to much fuel in.

I am experiencing the exact same thing on my 11 with the boondocker turbo . I talked with jared at boondocker st and I change my weights to 77 grams anna and a clutch spring and also ran a little leaner fuel settings. I am riding at 11,000 feet and also running the new timing module. It seemed to help but was still having to play with fuel settings to try and get the bottom end to run.

correct,

on your bd box, go to the cr number and see what its set at.

on my 2011bd rg kit it is set at around 35 (i run more boost than 4.5)
if i were you i would try that and go up from their. 35-40 should be good.

so at 35 cr secondary injectors are comming on a about 7-7.5 psi ?

i would take of the intercooler if you only running 4 to 5 lbs of boost dont really need it until you get up above 10lbs and intercooler kills lowend power tons of lag . i went to a speedwerx turbo pipe and got most of my lag gone from my intercooler . long to short under10lbs take off the intercooler

4 pounds?

Why only 4 pounds of boost? Turn that puppy up! Your stock injectors would still be safe with 7 pounds, and at 6,000ft I wouldn't think you would need any race gas either...

Check reeds for sure! When those go out you loose some serious bottom. I have a boondockers race gas kit with intercooler, and bottom end does suffer a little because of the cooler, but not a whole lot.

What primary clutch weights are you using? heavy tips or light tips? I found that heavy tips gave pretty bad throttle response in my previous set-up.

If you are only ever going to run around 4 pounds, I would definitely try to take off the inner cooler, no reason to have it running that low of boost.

Ok been awhile but have the # psi 8-18-38 lo mid hi
3000rpm all 0-0-0
5000rpm 0--2- -4
Have not taken out for a ride yet. boondocker said bottom end performance should be good with intercooler. will check reeds tomorrow just in case.
