does anyone know the release date. I'm hoping for a chassis change and just wondering when we will find out. i like the m chassis but they are like belly buttons on the mountain (everyone has one), kinda looks old school. thanks in advance

There is a reason you see so many, they just work in the mountains. I would find it hard to believe a new chassis in the first year or two will do any better.

i know they work okay, just thinkin of trying one but kinda tired of the chassis look. i do agree that first yrs on a new chassis is a gamble but i like to be diffrent.

agreed, I got tired of working on a skidoo zx chassis 7 years ago. I don't think I want to go back and work on one now... haha.
I do like the ride though.
Always a toss up

So if they just changed the hood design you would buy one!!!!!!!! your not looking at the chassis just some plastic, they can change the look with out a new chassis, they could also slip a new chassis under the same plastic, just saying...............

after working on a few XPs and looking at the new RMK with similar engine access I hope Cat is not planning on changing the basic design, all they need to do is continue to refine the package, if you are looking for rider forward I hope Cat NEVER does that

Polaris has already unleashed their '11 Pro RMK, 431 pounds. All new, a bold step in this economy. I really hope Cat steps up as I expect them to, but I don't think I would buy another M Series. Increased fuel economy, trail mannors, and weight reduction are what I hope for. Every weekend I decide when it is time to head for the parking lot, because my M1000 is out of fuel, when the Poo's that I ride with are at half a tank. Trail mannors I can deal with because I only ride trail to get to the hills, but I would still like to see improvements. Hopefully they step up.

If they bring out a new mountain chassis, I hope its something that I dont want!! ;)

I really do not want to spend another $11000... just saying..:face-icon-small-sho:face-icon-small-hap

I think the dealer show in Vegas is scheduled for the weekend of the 27th, does anyone know where they hold it? I will be in Vegas that weekend.

Dealer show starts a week from today. You'll probably see pics on here march 1 of the "new" stuff. M8/M1000 and BNG, dont hold your breath waiting for something new.

My dealer said he heard a rumor that the M1000 was going to get a big boost in horse power like the M8 got last season.
But we all know that the rumor mill goes big time this time of year.
A factory M1200 would sure be nice with 220 hp:face-icon-small-hap

i do hope they make it a little more rider forward, with a better rear skid and a new look. also i would like to see them get down to the xp weight and ditch the crappy diamond drive. i know thats a big list as i really like it as is. just love to see technology bring improvements.

No new chassis this year. I initially thought it would finally be coming but its not. I don't mind either, after a couple days on the new M8 I don't think it can get much better in the mountains, which is what it is designed to do. Now the trail ride, thats a different story...... Nothing a little suspension work can't fix though.

x^2. I love my M8. I'm doing things in the mountains as far as tree riding and sidehilling that I would have never even thought about on my Polaris. It's a fun chassis, but like mentioned above, there is room for improvements.
