2010 Winter Olympics and whats to come?????

Now with the Summer Olympics out of the way and off to Vancouver B.C. for the Winter Olympics in 2010, how will this affect us sledders for the 09' season? I heard that the Blobsled event will be held up near Callahan but how about other areas that will start to be affected for us users ie: Brandywine,Rutherford ?

P.P.

Good Topic!

Well Callahan is already closed in the sledding season, lets hope and do whatever we can to make sure no other areas get closed!!:beer;

2002 Winter olympics were the worst thing ever to happen to my region. Property prices went through the roof, large tracks of land you could ride on got subdivided up and sold to europeans that wanted a winter place to stay in a cabin. Over development, horrible traffic... all around pain in the ***!

I was just up a Whistler this last January. The bobsled track is right between Whistler and Blackcomb mountains. The downhill events are going to be on Whistler mountain. As far as any other issues, I understood that the Callaghan was closed already for other reasons, not just for the Olympics, though events like cross country will be out there. Home prices are already expensive up there at the resort, but I would think the biggest problem is finishing the sea to sky highway in time so that people in between Vancouver and Whistler don't keel over from all the traffic.
