hey guys i have a 09 dragon 163 with 2010 update..so far i only have full slp pipe and the powder valve..so far i've been out 3 times about roughly 80 miles..sled ran great till i was heading back home and check engine light came on and it was bogging badly..5000 to 6000 rpm..made it back to the truck drop it off at the shop..the mechanic took it all apart and told me that mag side was scuff up and cause by water gettin into my engine..so my question is...is my powder valve could be the cause of this??also i notice the scuff was on the exhaust side not the intake side but also i had a brief look at it will check it out sometime this week.. anyone have this trouble??

I too have the powder valves. I have not yet had this problem. Is your airbox sealed up good and tight? Also around the headlight?

I have a 1000 miles in deep snow with powdervalves..never had any problem with moisture coming thru them..now the headlight seal, the adjuster seal the stock intakes..yep all sorts of water, snow and garbage..but seal them good and it should be good to go..also might put some gas dryer thru the fuel system..good chance you have moisture in the tank....

I've got three rides in all three being deep powder days and no problems yet sled runs way stronger this year then last running slp single, sled shed "the thing" can, vf-3's. The more I look at the stock intake system the more I shake my head, lots of ways for snow to get in, a budy of mine is running the timber sled intake and from what I can tell this may be the best setup to keep the water and snow out of the air box looks prety simple you could probably build one prety easy.

AKSNOWRIDER hows your clutch set up working with the update??

looks great, how much fuel does that tank hold I've found on powder days/climbing that I can't seem to pack enough gas these things can eat the gas when your pegged to the bars all day. Getting a fresh layer of the white stuff today headed to cresent/carter tomorrow should be good.

Tell us more about your fuel tank.

thanks, the tank is a trail tank holds 15.5 gallons and is a direct boltin..
Nice work Mike, pooch looks has that WTF look!

Thanks Ron, thats mariah, she just got done chewing a 2x4 up just to the left of the picture..she gets pissed if you dont bring her along...

Have you tried the trail tank yet? I'm wondering how well it picks up fuel when you're climbing. Also wonder if there's a noticable sloshing effect with such a long fuel tank.

I havent tried it yet poo, been wondering the same thing..hopefully will have the sled togeather this weekend(but its alot to get done) .....

300 miles on my Powervalves last season & no issues. I did put some screen over them to keep out debris etc..

This is another area that snow gets in, you can see the snow beyond the seal. When carving in deep snow the hood flexes and lets snow between the hood and air shelf.
