Last weekend I took my 2010 RMK 800 out for a drive. It was quite foggy out (live in the flatland, field driving), so I was fairly easy on the throttle compared to normal, and the sled backfired a couple times later in the ride. I attributed it to fueling issues given that normal I don't ride with that little throttle, and thought it'd clean itself out after some normal, throttle heavy riding.
The next day I took it out, and it still backfired a couple times throughout the day. It seemed random when it would, once was while moving the sled quite slowly to turn it around, the next time would be a half second into a WOT blast where it would fall on it's face for a second (like it lost spark completely), backfire, then continue on. The next long pull at full throttle would be fine. It only happened maybe 4-5 times, but up till now I've never had an issue so it makes me nervous, especially given the reputation the motor has. That said, I installed the fix kit last year, and ran it all last year.
I pulled the plugs and they look OK to me, tan to whitish tan in color. Could a spark plug be fouled and still look normal? Is there something else I can check by myself before I bring it into the dealership?
