2010 M8 LE Questions on Black Tunnel?

Hey fellas,

Looing at an 2010 M8 LE and had questions on the paint. How will that black paint hold up on the tunnel? I am sure it is not powdercoated black, and I do not want to be scratching the heck out of it and make it look like crap after a season. Everything on the sled looks sweet, just want to make sure it will stay that way! Any thoughts on this....experiences etc......

I appreciate it, I am close to pulling the trigger on one, but need feedback!

I'd say it should be alright. I have a painted black tunnel on a sabercat i have and after 5000 miles it looks good. just a bit worn off on the running boards but thats about it.

I have heard the same thing. Holds up well for normal use but the running boards wear a little over a long period of time.

my whole sled is black except the front springs and the rails. my hood will show a scratch before my tunnel or running boards. i havent chip it yet and twigs and stuff is always hitting it. i even have a dent from a stump in the running board and the paint never scratched or chipped.

The paint on the rivets come off. Other then that they hold up good.

Second season on my '08 Nightfire with a black tunnel and it's still like new. Won't go back to an unpainted tunnel unless a gun is pointed at my head.

my tunnel didnt chip or show the aluminum at all when i bent the crap out of it last year after a 'little' jump i mis-judged

That is why they make touch up paint.
