2010 m8 hcr

Running this sled in a xcountry race in March in Labrador. No trails, deep snow and very long distance. Tough terrain from the woods and hills the the lakes and river systems. We are having custom aluminum gas tanks built that will incorporate the inside of the seat. Basically a 7 gallon draw down tank with a portion to be built inside of the short seat to keep as much weight forward. The we have a 15lb gear bag behind that.

My question is this: How much weight can would you feel comfortable on the back of the 153"?

Also looking for a tunnel and rail reinforcing kit for this sled. Anybody got a line on a company that offers this? Also A-Arm reinforcments would be nice as well. Any help would be appreciated. We ran Cross Fires last year, but they just are not capable enough in the deep snow.

If you want tunnel and footing support see Van Amburgs new tunnel kits and rear bumbers. And for a a-arm that wont brake talk to AfterMarketProducts they make a one piece billet a-arm kit. Good luck

My dealer has some heavy duty rail stiffeners on his 09 HCR. He said he got them from cat. He was looking at a black and white book when he was checking to see if they will work on my crossfire. I'm going to get them anyways. If I have to cut them shorter or drill a few holes it will be well worth it. I think they were around 150 bucks.

Rooster, I heard you were riding shorties this year, so I will do my best to blaze a path for you!..Not likely, but I will at least give you a hand if I come up on you and your buried!. See you up there.
