2010 M8- Front Fox Floats- psi?

Any recommendation if one weighs in at 130lbs ? Just got my sled last week.

Got mine at 60psi in front and 125 in back for now as I think that is just the stock set-up. Will likely move down a bit as we work in the sled and get a feel for it. But if anyone has any tips for a lighter rider, I'd certainly appreciate them.

Just gradually keep lowering your front shock pressures until you can feel the front shocks stroking. I was down to 50 PSI and liked it there but, others like 65PSI. It depends on what you feel is comfortable.

You can get your shocks revalved (fixed) by sending them (all four of them) to Gas Shock Repair (Andy Youngstrom) for just over $100. That's a great mod for the money.

The rear I was at 100 PSI and liked it but, others say the sled climbs much better at 140 PSI. I tried that and it was too rough for me so I dropped to 130 and it's pretty good now.

I have read that you can take a large rubber band (like the ones that come on aspargus or broccoli in the store) and put it around your shocks to see how far they have traveled with a specific pressure. Then keep dropping it until you have plenty of travel and aren't bottoming out often.

that seems like alot of trouble to put rubberbands on , dont you have to remove the shock to do it

ok, so i recomend doing the "geo mod" to the rear and if u do that run about 85-90 in the rear, depending on what u weigh and like but most peeps are runnning that, and for the front at the most 90-95 mine are set at 95 cuz i like to jump and dont want the shocks to bottom out while doing this.

Depends on your weight. To get the shocks to ride the best you should use the air pressures to set the ride height you want. Then they need to be revalved to match the pressure and your riding style. The valving should control the compression and rebound funcions, not the spring. The spring rate (air pressure) should match the valving or it will not be completely right. That is one thing that is kind of a misnomer about air shocks is that they are instantly adjustable for everyone, but they really are not. JT at Performance Fix Racing (406-587-7223) could help you out if you want to go this way. He does good work and is good to deal with. I think it is about $320 to have all four shocks serviced and revalved.

If you just want to adjust the pressures, then start at maybe 65 front and 140 rear and just spend a day changing the setup until you find what you like. Remember, only change one setting at a time. Otherwise you will never be able to figure out what front shock pressures, center shock preload, and rear shock pressure you prefer.

air

i hope everyone know to check the air unweighted.if u are between150and 175lbs the anything over 70psi in the front is to harsh and 120 to 130 in the rear.but fronts at 90psi is to much .fox even says only guy racin snowcross run that much.but now that there is a evo x and r non of those guys run floats any more.and the burandt kit for the rear is the best mod you can do to the m-sled.
