Run the 5203 and if it is a double sealed race, I pull the seal off on the inside so it can bathe in oil. If you are seeing in your oil that Metallica has been playing, pull it apart and do it right. If it is under warranty, have a dealer pull it apart and do it right.

I got mine from Bearings and Drives, but I think others have gotten them from Napa and other auto stores like that.

The reason they use a sealed bearing in this application is because centrifugal force prevents sufficient oil to lubricate the bearing during hard use. By removing your seals your just starving your bearing of lubrication.

I am so pissed right now. i have done every mod to my sled myself and spent hundreds of hours, but taking the dd off freaks me out? You guys do this yourself? I am just confused about the pulling off the bearing?

Removing the diamond drive on your sled is extremely easy . . and I recommend removing it to do the bearing swap, it is so much easier to do it on the bench, and easier to get it put back together properly. PM me if you have any questions, we have done several bearing updates.

Use cat dd oil and power up additive and your oil will stay clean if you change it every 1000kms.

Any particular 5203?

When I replaced mine I used a Peer bearing, I just talked to a buddy last night and he was using a KYK bearing. Im not sure if there is any difference, i wouldnt think so, they are both a double roller bearing that is twice as wide as stock.
