The weld on the upper right motor mount that is welded to the heat exchanger is cracked and is leaking coolant. My question is how is it placed and welded to the heat exchanger? Can I simply pull the motor, clean away the poor weld and TIG weld around the mount or is there more to this than I can see? I'll try to post a pic of what I am trying to explain when I can get an unobstructed view of this. Cat's warranty fix is to take it to the factory and install a new cooler/tunnel but I'm putting a VE tunnel on it this summer. I just want a temp fix so I can catch a couple more rides this year. Any info would be helpful.

I would let them replace the bulkhead, if you weld it, it will just break again. Its likely too contaminated unless you go to extreme lengths to clean it, you will probably still have to purge the inside of the cooler while welding. Its possible to get a good repair, but you'll pay dearly for that kind of work.

very true, had mine bust where the steering post bolts to the bulkhead, got it welded and it busted on the trail on the way up. sure am surprised arctic cat wants to warranty it for ya, but i agree, take them up on that offer. good luck

Upon further review, it appears someone missed welding the mount extrusion across the entire top side which explains the fatigue crack. It's going back to Cat. Thanks for the input guys.
