For those who have a 2010 m8, how many miles did you ride before the spring broke? I am waiting for mine to go.

maybe a 100 or 200 miles on mine. dealer swapped mine out at no charge for a yellow/white spring. After a couple of days on that it seems like I'm not getting as much peak RPM as I was previously before the black/orange broke. I noticed some of the paint on the outside of the yellow/white is rubbed off, possibly binding in the primary?

I've got a 120/340 in the mail from SLP, hopefully that works a little better for me.

Why not just change it before it goes? $25 and 10 minutes seems like it would be worth it to save yourself a headache and ruined ride.

At least in my case it really didn't cause any headaches or ruined rides. My sled still engaged normally and hit about the same RPMs with the broken spring as with the yellow/white that they are going to give you as the replacement.

The reason I asked was the dealer gave me the replacement spring at my request. I asked why not change before I ride it if it is going to break anyways. Their reply was Arctic cat will not warranty it unless it is broken and the mileage is written down with warranty claim.Second why waste your own money on a warranty issue , thats more money for riding or at least for me. When it does go I have the replacement and I'll change it.When it broke did you just notice you couldn't reach your peak rpm? or did it shift differently?

I believe I had around 500 miles. Didn't know it was broken till post trip inspection revealed it.

Just carry the spare and wait.

It engages at a much lower rpm, you'll figure it out pretty quick.

it engages much lower usually i have been through 2 black orange springs and one orange black and now im on a yellow white the black oranges lasted about 200 miles and the orange black lasted about 300 miles and was engaging alittle higher then the black orange which was nice for me havent tried the yellow yet thats for next year
