I was stuck and I pulled on my ski loop then the ski bottom tip broke. I am not that strong. Brand new sled and Cat will not warranty the ski. Also my primary spring broke and I drove 850 miles round trip to end up riding one day. Not happy with Arctic Cat!

10k plus for a new sled and they cant even warranty a defective ski. Make sure you change out your stock primary springs before it ruins your weekend. Maybe Cat should do a recall on their springs instead of fixing them after they break!

lame

Sorry for your luck man. I'v noticed alot of the same problems with the 2010 cats. I have 1000 hard miles on my 09 hcr, and hasn't let me down once. orignal belt still. I'v got the titanium spring in the primary, so should be tough to break that bad boy. Hope it gets better for you.

ha

i have never heard of a faulty ski, new to me im guessing you probably hit something and didnt know it.

but if your pissed at cat for a ski, imagine if you were on your third motor, or if they were handing you belts cause it couldnt holdem togather...

every sleds gonna have its small imperfections, fixem and rip that thing for the rest of its day..

The ski has no marks on the front from hitting anything. It broke after I pulled on it a couple times. I guess the handles are just for looks and if you pull on them it voids your warranty. I could see one breaking if you hooked a sno bunji on it and yanked it with another sled.

sounds to me like you hit something and cracked the ski before you pulled on it. Its been common knowledge that the primary springs are breaking, Id think you would go thru your machine and fix the easy stuff like that before driving that far...as for my experience, cat reliability is awesome, I kinda enjoy towing xps home.

almost as fun as dragin' a dragon eh!!!
they definitly dont make ski's l;ike they used too, but since there 80lbs lighter im not complaining....iv already tacoed 3 skis, but like buddie said....just be glad your not on your third motor

My primary spring was broken and I could still ride, though the performance was probably down some. I didn't know it was broken till after the trip. I don't think there is a big problem to finish out a trip even if the spring is broken as long as it runs decent.

In all my years of sledding, I've never seen a ski handle break but I'll definitely keep that in mind when the sno-bunjie is used. Don't need that bad boy hittin anyone.

My primary spring broke within the first 300 miles just like mmsports told me was gonna happen. Was actually only down 300+ rpms or so on the top end with the broken spring. Still rode all day with good power. Actually engaged quite nice I must say though lol. Thankfully mmsports sold me on the orange spring when I bought my sled, so no down time was required for me when my spring broke.

rlt504, sled stuff breaks. Some minor, some major. Just be glad it is nothing major that can ruin part of your season. Trust me I know all too well as I just jumped ship to Cat this Feb after owning a Polaris Dragon 800 that left me stranded in the backcountry multiple times...
