Snowchecked 2010 M8 Snopro 162 today traded in 09 M1000 Snopro LE. Question is will this new lightweight crank handle a race gas turbo? Am thinking about swapping motors on 2009 M8 Snopro le 153 (gf sled) with my new 2010 and do turbo on 2009 motor just to be safe. But would rather turbo 2010 starting with 160+ horsepower and fresh motor. Any thoughts?

hate to brake your little heart but the cats new ho is not even close to the 163 hp. 150 is best they are pulling.

Would love to see some proof of this.
10 with boondocker 91 turbo will be in my trailer.

The word on the street(cat shop) is that there will be a turbo M8 from the factory. It retails for 15,900.00, no warranty. I just had a conversation with one of my RMSHA factory cat racers, he has spent some time on the 2010. He said they were more powerful, but he didn't have the enthusiasm I was expecting. I you will remember, back at the 2007 hillclimbs, Polaris was claiming 161 hp on the new dragon 800s. It turned into 154 at production. Then, I just read it was closer to 146. Who knows. FUK IT, boost it til she blows and then maybe back'er off a little

saw a independent dyno chart of the new F8 motor, 163 horse... if it was only 150 who would care???

I know BD has full factory support and has the 2010 Cats and Polaris sleds allready and are boosted not sure how many miles on them yet but I'm sure they will be testing them and out for demo rides the rest of the season.

I don't think they lightened up the crank structurally. The main weight was taken out by sculpting the counter weights. I never did understand why they thought they needed the large, heavy round weights. The dyno runs I've seen have the new engine at 163HP

I've seen them ran on the dino and they are hitting 163 and thats what the print off said that i was holding in my hands straight from the dino itself... And everyone i have talked to that work on the arctic cats and set them up with turbos say that the 2010 m8 is where its at.... That they are gonna be spanking the 09 M1000's and i can't wait till mine comes in...

thing that stinks about the whole hp thing is if you SLP pipe and can the 09 it supposedly has just as much Hp as the 2010. That and lighter in weight.

You still looking at getting a new sled Sandman?

I think the 09 will work for a while 3 years and then maybe my boy can handle it. That will be a enjoyable first trip. Butt Pucker the whole way.

Hows the snow up there in North of Diamond. Gona try to get the family out tomorrow. Darn sports ruins spring riding.

snogoer mag

Does that mag know anything about sleds??? I still subscribe to it, but why, I dont know. Snowtech mag is better. They at least wont give bad hp numbers or reviews if a manufacturer doesnt advertise as much in there mag.
