2010 m8 162 or 153???
I know there are a ton of 153 or 162 threads... but I am wondering specifically regarding the 2010 m8.

I am in the market for a 2010 M8. I do mostly boondocking, steep and deep in the trees. I am 6'3" and an athletic 240lbs and 5 outta 6 of the guys I ride with have 162's. I would prefer a 162 but there are so many 2010 153's for sale, GOOD DEALS, compared to maybe 1 or 2 162's at a premium.

I have talked to lots of guys who say they go EVERYWHERE the 162's go with their 2010 153. your thoughts? Is it worth it to compromise?

I personally don't think the 162's are anymore difficult to throw around, but I am a big guy. I am coming off a 06 m7 162.

I AM SO TORN! I CAN'T DECIDE!:face-icon-small-con:hurt:

Thanks for you help.

With your weight and size and given the fact that your buddies ride 162's I would go 162. FWIW I'm 5'10 195lbs and had a piped 153'' 09 M8 this year, if I was buying another M I'd go 162''. Just my 2cents, I'm sure others will disagree.:face-icon-small-win It's all rider preference.

I have a 2010 M8 limited, so its a 153.

As far as a 162 goes I really think its going to come down to your riding style. A lot of guys want to just point at a hill and see how far the sled will climb. If that is you then get a 162. Personally, I like technical riding where my sidehiling ability and ability to carve in the trees are what gives me my thrills.
I also like to put a high mark on the hill once in a while too and I still put a monster mark on the hill with a 153.

To me the disadvantage of the 162 is you have the same motor but more rotating mass due to larger track, yea you get more floatation but there is a trade off. If you boost the sled then the added mass of the 162 track is negligible, but for me its 153 all the way.

BTW: I ride with a guy that has the same exact sled as me and he is your same height and weight, hes 100% happy with his 153.

You just cant go wrong either way once youre on a 2010 M8!

I am in a similar boat. Trying to find a 2010 sno pro for around $9,000

I am 170lbs and my 900 1m 151" climbs like a beast on steroids with set up snow. But, in fresh powder I get left behind and stuck all the time. We do lots of trees and technical hill climbs.

If the 153's are hanging in there with the 162's I'll go 153. But if the 162's are killing it in powder than I'll have to go that way.

So in a group ride situation with a mix of different sleds how are the 153's doing out there? Are you getting left behind in the fresh!?

I am am 6-2, 235 in street cloths and think 162 is the only way to go for bigger guys, its the most versatile track to me, there are a few days a year that a 153 might be fun, but on those days a 141 would be even better if that's your way of thinking, .......but I can have just as much as fun on my 162, the 162 allows me to just cruise through the trees, no worries, I can pause and pick lines even, and then on those awesome deep fresh powder days I just laugh at my friends on there short tracks, there working there ***,s off to just keep moving and am riding circles around them, some will say those days are few and far between but I must be blessed because I seem to get 2 or 3 of those days every month, living in Utah helps:face-icon-small-hap

If you are looking for a 2010 M8 162 SP, I just traded mine in on a 2011 M8 162 SP, it is all stock with 1500 miles

Rode a 2010 M8 Sno-Pro 162 demo in really deep, new snow last week.....We traded off and a few stuck it, a 153 would have been worse.....

Today, I bought a 2010 162 with 303 miles, several extras, and 1.5 yr left on the warranty......Paid $8,000........I'm happy
