2010 m-800 clutching

I Find my 2010 m800 runs very unloaded and likes to spool up way to quick for tree riding ... has anyone had any success triing to re clutch these things to load them up and rid them of the anoying lurch on engaugment ? dealer here suggested leaving clutching bone stock for 6000 to 8000 feet alt ( our area )??? sled works decent like this but seems to be screaming unloaded for first half of shift ? feels like there's lots left that should be capitalized on !

I installed a Cat yellow/white in the primary which made engagement much smoother.

Each sled is a little bit different and I'm not a clutching expert by any means. Try different primary springs and don't be afraid to throw more weight at it also. I use Cutler's adjustable weights, so it's very easy to change while up riding. I'm using a 120/340 primary spring and have found my sled works best with about 67.5 grams for my riding.(9000-12000 ft) My peak rpm on hard pulls is consistantly around 8200 +- 50. I had the same feeling as what you are talking about, but now with over 800 miles on my 2010 HCR, I feel that I can use that odd feel to my advantage in the gnarliest most technical tree riding. It's all about finding that sweet spot combining your riding style and how your sled performs. My advice is to try different setups and combinations until you find what satisfies you. I've also heard good results from the BDX dual angle helix's and more spring tension on the secondary.(more responsive backshift) Good luck

Tried some Polaris springs, a AC yellow/white and ended up with a SLP Blue/pink, engages at 4050 and finishes nice, close to 8200. This is running around 1,000'. You should be able to change your weights and use this spring at your elevation. The whole powerband is smooth with this one, the snap is still there but it comes on smooth. Nice in the steep and deep. The Yellow/white had a great engagement but it never got up to rpm on the top.

Brent Linderman just put it the yellow/Green spring in the primary and it cleaned it up nicely. 2010 M-8 162

Is this a cat spring? what does it measure out to?

Thanks

Cat yellow/green is 114/267. I can see how it would make the engagement smoother, but I'm a little surprised it maintained peak rpm considering the stock spring is 143/290.
