2010 heat shield on an 07 M8

I've still got my stock heat sheild on my 07 M8 and just used a bunch of heat tape on everything. I see the 2010 heat shields look much better. Has anyone been able to make the 2010 heat shield fit the 07? If not, what is my best bet besides a bunch of heat tape?

The heat shield that covers the fuel rail is p/n 5606-372, it will fit but uses a self tapping bolt that goes in the hole for the clip that holds the throttle cable to the chassis.

Are you sure this wasn't a recall item?

I know on my 07 M1000 it was a safety recall and they had to install the shield to protect the throttle bodies, the oil bottle and the water bottle.

So you might check. It might be a warranty/recall item.

If you get the heat shield that goes over the fuel rail , be sure to turn your injector wires to the side so it doesn't rub, or you will be not happy. It will rub the wires and you will be walking or worse yet be towed by one of the other guys. I'm speaking from experience, and it was a perfect powder day wasted.
