2010 D8 rad mod help?

Looking to do a radiator mod on my D8 and wondering if anyone knows of a thread with pictures and part #'s? I've heard of some people using an xlt tunnel cooler and installing between the tunnel protectors?

I would appreciate any advice/help on this! I'm just not happy with the temps and dont want to have any future problems. I love this sled!!!

Are you using scratchers while on groomed/hard pack trails? You do know you have full tunnel length coolers on your sled right?
I would try a little longer flap to direct more snow up into the tunnel before you go spending a bunch on extra coolers and hacking up you sled. You can get a 24" flap from Proven Design Products in the Pro-RMK section and then choose "long" from the style drop down.

Here's a link. http://www.provendesignproducts.com/Pro_RMK__2011__.html

FWIW, I have one their mtn flaps that I have cut back to 26" and the temps on my 09 RMK (std model) went down around 6*. I run around 117 - 119*.

Yes, I am running the slidekicks and know about the stock coolers. The short track sleds just don't have the stock cooling capacity needed to keep temps in the the 120 range? I've considered the long flap but I struggle not backing onto the stock flap, so I've been resistant to go that route.
I love the sled, but don't want issues associated with high temps...

How are your slide kicks mounted? I have them as well. If the angled end that bolts to the rails isn't pointing straight down or even slight to the front of the sled, it's possible you aren't generating enough down force. One more thing, upgrade to the carbide tips if don't have then already, they kick a lot more snow that the standard tip that comes with them. Here's a pic of the one on my sled:

Head over to HCS there is a good discussion going in the IQ forum about adding an auxiliary cooler set up from the 04/05 edge chassis.

I am thinking about this mod but I have spent enough money on my sled this yer to get it running right, RSI scratchers will do the trick for now.

Thanks for the pic, I will adjust the angle for more pressure which makes sense to me. I have had an issue keeping them up on the rail and turning them downward will probably make that issue worse? Did u mount something to hold them up, or do u just let them drag all the time? I will also order the aggressive tips..

I have also seen all the threads of the additional coolers and believe it would be a great fix. But with the very limited snowfall, I too am hoping to get through the remainder of the season without investing more on this mod if possible...

I only put them up when driving on/off the trailer. Other than that, they are down all the time.

There is a stock cooler available in front of your drive shaft that came stock on some sleds like mine 08 D7. I think you would just have to take that plastic thing out and rivet the cooler in and get the appropriate hoses and coolant tank but not quite sure. You can see what I mean on the Parts Fiche. Mine runs 120 on really hard pack with scratchers down and about 140-145 on that stuff without.
