2010 D8 dies

2010 D8 w/ approx. 600 miles, today while riding sled quite, just like someone had hit the kill switch. Stop, start it back up ride another 100 yds, dies, continue several more times, and notice that the digital screen is blank as well. This continues about 15 times before i got POD and had someone tow me back. Anyone have any ideas?? I just had to replace the temp sensor two rides ago, and it ran good all day until it started quiting on it's own. This is getting old!!!

Sounds like the all to common voltage regulator.
Mine did the exact same thing first ride out. Dash blank shutting down.
I now have 4 rides on the updated VR and it's holding up.

Sounds like the common voltage reg. If it is more than likely your ecu is toast. Did happen to smell anything after this happened. You can look on the back of the ecu. If it looks burnt or smells funny it's toast also. Hopefully you are under warranty.

I will have to take a look at the ecu later today. I did not smell anything funny, and checked the under the hood for loose connections several times when it first started happening. The sled would always start back up after a few pulls, but sometimes would run for a minute and sometimes only make it 30-40 yards before it quit again.

I sure hope it didn't take the ecu with it as i am guessing warranty will not cover this? It is a '10 sled, but i did not snow check it so i only got a 1 yr. warranty and a 2 yr on the motor i believe. Anyone know if this would be covered? If not anyone know the part number? Thanks!!

VR is Burned Out

Pull the plastic cover off and unplug the orange wires coming off the VR and see if it starts and stays running it might save your ECU
