2010 Crossfire 800 using octane 91

I just bought a 2010 Crossfire 800HO and was wondering if anyone knows if I can't get octane 91 at the fuel station on the trials, can I put regular octane and use a STP octance booster(example) to compensate the octane level.

Any info on this would be great!
 
All of those octane booster tell you that you cannot buy a lower octane level and use the booster to bump it up. If you have to use 89 ect on trails just do not hold throttle for more than 30 seconds to get home.
 
buy a brand name like Lucas or NOS octane booster... i think both of them boosters boost octane rating at least 50 points which is like 5 octane rating. so 87 should be around 91-92. i had asked slp about this.. i was thinking about their pipe kit and i have no premium around... they said they have had good results from good name brand booster. even with 87 the deto sensor and pipe temp sensor on the stock sled should put it in to limp mode if it detects any such instance. i wonder about how long some of this 91 sits in the tank anyway.
 
i dont know why 91 octane just isnt the base standard for fuels... then it would fresh all the time. dont know about the US but canada minimum is 87 and could contain up to 7% ethanol.
 
what elevation you riding at, the 91 requirement is based on the comp ratio at sea level, the higher up you go the less it matters as the comp goes down, the knock censer will help protect you as well if you get bad gas
 
I have the same problem no 91 around. So I put a gas rack on my 2010 m8 and dump in a gal of 100LL to 10 gals of 89 been working great ever since.

O FYI I did trip the oct. sensor on 89oct at 1000ft therefore I now carry 100LL.
 
100LL is av gas I get 10 gallons at a time from my local airport and adding only a gallon per tank it lasts a long time. I believe it is a true 100 octane so bumps your 89 up quickly plus I have the 1.3 gal mtn. addiction gas can u dont even know its back there. I love their setup!
