2010 Arctic cat M8 rear suspension mounting.

So I was looking over my "new" 2010 M8 today and noticed that the rear suspension hangers are in the lower position. There are wear marks from it being mounted higher before, and I was wondering that effect that would have on the suspension. Also, any advice on where to run my front track shock preload at? I am 6' and weigh about 235 fully dressed. Thanks!

Id mount it back the upper hole. Mounting it in the lower hole in theory will just push the rear of the skid down and potentially make it trench more. There will be rubber marks inside the tunnel from track slap. That is just dependent on how loose you run the track for the most part. Seems like the M likes the front track shock preload as loose as possible without rattling. Start there and see what works for you, everyone is different.

I am about 10 pounds heavier. Top holes. The front skid shock has 11mm of threads showing below the locking rings. Seems fine to me but then again I dont fiddle with stuff much.

Yup, put the rear in the top holes and back the front spring tension off until spring is loose enough to wiggle then tighten the spring back up just enough it doesn't wiggle any more. On top of that I also like to run my limter straps in the longest position

I guess i am the only person that likes to lighten up the front end?
10-11 threads below the spanner nut on front track shock makes the sled handle sooooo much better than a loose spring.

I've never had a problem getting the front end up when I need to with the loose spring, but I weigh a good 240 before gearing up so that probably helps contribute. In my experience with the M, stiffening the front track shock or softening the rear just leads to trenching. But then again my fat azz probably plays a role
