read for an hour and cant seem to find the same issue, Gauge display goes dead then engine quits, I was thinkin voltage reg, but it fires right up and runs fine for another couple mins then the same blank gauge then dies.... Thinking maybe a grounding issue or? Stator? VR? muffler belt? Any help would be great, I'm pretty sure it is out of warrenty, Thanks GG

o and it is completely stock with 300 miles on it.

ok sounds like its the vr, how do I know if it took out the ecu too?

Sounds like they warrenty them for 12 months after your original warrenty expires, with a $50 deductible. So thats not bad....

you will know it took out the ecu if it smokes and/or smells like burned electronics. but if the sled will restart and be fine for a while it is most likely good. but if it is the voltage regulator it will be covered by a goodwill warranty.
 
So how long does it run for? Does the idle just slowly start falling off till it dies? Is it only an idle issue, what does it do when you try and ride it? Or am I way off base, motor still sounds the same and electronics die then just like you hit the kill switch or what? need more info
 
2010 rmk 26 miles

I bought a 2010 rmk 800 I put 26 mile on it around MN to make sure it'd be ok out west something would happen I brought it in and they changed out the VR and I put another 29 miles on it before I went to WY(the snowy range). The trip went good and didn't have anymore probs yet. I go to the bighorns in 4 days I can't wait!!

o and it is completely stock with 300 miles on it.

Unplug the 3 smaller orange wires that go from the VR to the ecu and the sled should keep running and if it does the ecu is currently ok and should not burn up yet? Now you can run it with out it stalling, the bad news is that my D8 did the same thing and I thought the ECU was ok but then burned up right after the new VR was installed. Good luck and mine was fully covered by polaris after it was out of warranty.
