2009 Nytro with stage 2 powderlite turbo

OK boys, here's the deal. I need honest opinions. I'm tossed up between the o9 nytro with the the second stage powderlite turbo(pump gas), the 09 Dragon 800 with some goodies(no turbo) or the 09 M8 with some goodies(no turbo). I know the cost is alot more with the nytro, but I'm getting a pretty good deal, my bud owns a yammi dealership. My problem is I want to know the good the bad the ugly about them all. I love all around riding in the mountains, I'm not just a chute climbing junkie(which I know all turbo guys are) I love boondocking just as much as climbing. I want an all around good dependable sled. I hate wrenching on them, not real good at it. I'm coming off an 07 M8. Thanks all.

I dont think that you can go wrong with any of those. The yammi is going to be far far more sled in performance and never having to mess with it.(assuming your dealer is pretty good) I like the M8 for the price, but if your planning to keep the sled for a few years and are not that concerned with $$$ go with yammi... just remember that if you just put a turbo and that it you wont be that happy. It has to have a better rear susp. setup, otherwise it just does not handle. You can make the stock setup up work, but you are going to be half way to a timbersled in $$ trying to make the stocker work and the timbersled is going to drop u in the niebourhood of 40lbs.

Also I think that powderlights is a great kit. but you might also want to look at Alpine. If it were me i would have a really tough time deciding between the two. Alpine is probably a bit more resposive, comes with a seat($600) and larger tank($400) and also uses a tunnel dump exhaust which save a fair bit of weight and also free's up the tunnel for storage. But i have also heard that the rear mounts handle abit different as the extra weight is not on the nose(where alot of yami extra weight allready is)

You are probably also going to need to upgrade tracks.

so all in all you are going to be around 10000 extra plus labour. basicly double the price of a m8. double the sled forsure, but double the $$$.

track upgrade is a must! but im happy with the stock rear suspension with just adding rail extensions. somethings it does very well, but it has more weight so it is harder to keep moving in tight trees with deep snow vs a lighter sled. I mean tight too not like the polished tunnel posers who claim they ride in trees.....where are the branches sticking out the hood? the sap marks along both sides? the broken headlight swich with pine scented grips? ya know the trees that modify your alignment on your skis when it just didnt quite fit.
the total to date on my sled (including the sled) is just under 19k and the same mcx turbo kits have come down $1500 or so from last year.
are the lighter sleds more fun?? ive ridden them but its the 235+ hp that really makes me smile!

Does anyone know if a track upgrade is a must this year, now when they come with a harder compound?
Just thinking, pretty much $ for a track, if you don't sell the stock track.

I switched a few years back to a Yamaha and haven't looked back I love it this year I am building a Nytro with a stage 2 powder lites and I ride allot of trees I'm not much on just siting at the bottom of a hill and see what I can clime and what I cant I need to mix it up a little. The things that I think you need to change are the rear skid, track. last year the one thing that I had problems with were the running boards I like them being wide but they hang up in the snow at low speeds and on a steep side hill the running board will hit and the track will spin out so this year I cut them back and tapered them like most MT sleds are hopefully this will work better as far as turn the key and ride Yamaha all the way even with a turbo on pump gas once you get it dialed in you just ride ride ride. I am the only one in my group that I ride with all the time that has a Yamaha the rest have cats and poo's and I hang with them all day long with no prob

Currently own them except Dragon is the wifes and is a 700. They would all be comparable with Turbos but without boost on the 2 strokes the Nytro is 10x the sled. With all of them at 12 lbs they are comparable IMO but as soon as you ramp up the boost on the Nytro there is no comparison. The other two are fun sleds to play and really fun with boost but the 4 stroke boost potential is far greater
