2009 m8 steering post

Has anyone taken the telescoping steering post and replaced it with anything else? The play in it is starting to bother me and I ride with it up all the time anyways... Was thinking about getting a stock M8 post and just putting a 4 or 5 inch rise on it? Any ideas?

was told by my local cat dealer that you can replace the post on your 07-08 M sled with the 09 post and its a direct fit. So, I would assume that you can replace the 09 with an 08 post...

anyone that is replacing your adjustable steering post with a fixed on pm me I would be interested in buying a 09 adjustable as long as its not a f#%ked up!! looking to change out my 08 m8 post with the 09 adjustable

The 09 standard post is weak, I've bent mine side to side about 6 times, never did on my 07

I replaced my 2006 stock M-sled post & 4 inch Ole's riser with a Chrome-Moly Fastlane post, built with 4" rise and 15-degree bend. Saves weight and is supposedly stronger - a nice addition. But I notice lots of flex in this new CroMo post which might be a distraction to some.

I also have LOTS of flex in the stock 'hoop' part of the CAT frame that supports the upper steering post bushings... Seems far too wimpy, especially with the extra leverage that a riser provides. I'm considering adding some reinforcement or maybe replacing the whole deal with a beefier structure.

Anybody else with the same issue?
