Any and all sleds with R.E.R will make that noise, It is the helix sliding into the reverse notch. There will be no recall or way to fix it, that is the nature of the beast.
isn't this a no-brainer?make sure the rpms are at idle before going into or coming out of reverse. the higher the rpms when pressing the reverse button the worse the clunk, my dealer said if the rpms are high when enguaging reverse it can do damage to the gears
This may be a dumb question. Could you put a standard helix in?Then you wouldn't have that gap between the rollers and the notched side of the helix. I dont see the secondary opening up that easily due to everything is spinning in the opposite direction as the helix ramp. But as I say this might be a dumb idea from a newbie to the sled world.
Thanks for the heads up about the clunk though.

I have a new M8, I have not had it out yet. I have herd through the grape vine that there is a clunk either on de cel or after de cel when accelerating. Appearently something to do with the electronic reverse and the way the notch is cut in the helix. Has anyone noticed this?
