2009 M8 how to install lights mesh hood?

I am looking at installing a mesh hood from Skinz. I could use some helpfull hints on installing after market head lights. I was looking at using 50 watt fog lights. Open to sugestions on what is a good light to go with without getting to spendy. Also how does a person wire these lights. do you splice into high beam or low beam in wiring harness. I could use alot of input on this topic, as I don't want to burn out the EFI controler. HELP Please..

i mounted 2 55w ultra white fog lights on my handlebars, not as bright as stock but deffinatly bright enough, i tied into the lowbeam wires but i dont think it matters, they are both 12V, all it costed me was the price of the lights ($66cnd) and a peice of scrap aluminum, it works really good, if you want some pics give me your email and i can send some to give you an idea

You do not have to worry about burning up the ECU on an '09. That was only on the earlier models. Totally different electronics now.

Yes just splice into wiring harness

You will not burn out ECU if run without

I use a Lead Dog Helmet light, I wire into the blue wire (high beams) so when the switch is on lows it is turned off.

Ive mounted them in the A arm well, right above the shocks. directly to the bellly pan. theres a flat spot there thats perfect. Small PIAA's. Works good except when its three ft deep.

ld go with small piaa lights. when I ran a mesh hood I mounted 1 small piaa light in the top + center aluminum frame with a few rivites, this spot seemed to work well until the nose came off the ground than I could not see a thing. If I was to do it over again I might also all a light to my bars that I could aim down a bit. also btw bullheadmoto on the 4m or at bullheadmoto.com has some sweet lights for sale, not cheap but they look nice. here is a link to a pic of them mounted on the bars. http://www.snowest.com/forum/showthread.php?t=164581

Best way

This is the way that I've done it as well... for both a helmet light (the greatest things EVER) and for a mesh hood. I also mounted mine on the handle bars so that the lights turn with the sled.. bit annoying in deep powder, but with a Helmet light it doesn't matter! Lead dog makes a solid product, but we've always made our own out of KC HiLights, works like a charm and worth it's weight in gold in the dark in the deep stuff....
