2009 M8 HCR track binds when reversing off trailer

It is impossible to reverse the M8 HCR off of a tilting trailer. The metal clip on the PTO side binds on the hifax once the track hits the pavement. It might be because the track is very cold and not flexible after sitting over night?

To me it looks like the rails are just a little short. Maybe 3/4".

Anybody else with an M8 having this problem? Or is this something that only happens on the HCR?

I believe some other guys had the same problem, they ended up cutting the hyfax at a 45 degree angle at the end of the rail. Would that solve your problem?

I have had no problems at all backing down a trailer ramp, hill or flat ground. Even at high speed on lake(just messing around :D)

Their was a post a while back about this and Yes.. you need to champher the back of the hyfax at about 45 degree angel and this solves the problem.. I also noticed that my friends polaris and yamaha and ski doo all have the champhered hyfax.. I guess Cat just missed the boat here...

Yeah, I'm gonna be cutting my hyfax one of these days. Catches every single time at the bottom of my ramp. Not a big deal right now because I know to expect it, but I'd hate to be backing up and catch it without realizing it.

Could be a bit embarrassing in front of the parking lot crowd. :p

Easy Fix

This is an easy fix, i fixed mine while still on the trailer, used a fine hack saw bade ( with out the frame work ) and a pair of leather gloves, cut each hi-fax
on 45 degrees angle. solved all the chance for problems. took a grand total of 10 minutes.
