I have a 2009 m1000 with Sw exhaust, snopro intake, case and cylinder porting, Hc head, Im playing with two fuel controls a powercomander 3 and a boondocker. The problem is i cant seem to give it enough fuel to make the plugs the right color. With the power comander as high as it can go is giving me grey plugs. With the boondocker I have to set the 7500 and 7800 settings to 50+ and they still look a little lean I took the numbers on up to 67 and it started cutting out and missing! Then i hooked them both up together and ran the power comander at +1 low and max five at the mid and hi setting then i 0 out the boondocker except for the 7500 and 7800 settings ad i set them a 33 and it absolutly rips with those settings but the plugs are still a greyish white. I also tried to richen the boondocker up a little more with the powercommander but it didnt help the plugs!

Anyone have any thoughts seems real weird to me! I checked the intake boots and the reeds to try and find a air leek but I cant find anything!

I am running a 50/50 blend of av gas and 91.

The sled is running like a top im just worried it will take a piston on a good climb!

Thanks for all your help! ryan

What is your fuel pressure?

fuel pressure is stock

I guess my question was, have you checked it.

I may have read your post wrong, but if you can't add more fuel with the controller. The fuel pump is not suppling enough.

have not checked it recently i know it was at 44 ill check it again though! Thank you!

it seems to give it the fuel because when i tried taking the high numbers up to the 60s on the boondocker with the power commander all the way up it started cutting out and running rough on top but the plugs didnt show much change.

sounds like your not setting your pc right. i have same sled ,porting ,,speedwerx, pc111. 46 psi fuel at 1700 rpm. pc is at 18 at 100% throttle from 7500 to 8000 rpm. 50/50 ave with 13/1 head or straight premium with stock head 4000 ft. do not adjust high buttons on the box they are useless.

Ryan, if you need a fuel reg, I have a spare & I'll be over there next week to put that 1000 back together at George & Shelley's.

After we talked that morning op on GM, I was thinking that you needed to up your fuel pressure. You should get a gauge & check it again, you can get a gauge & adapter for $36 from BDX.

what blew on your DD btw? You get it back together yet?

One suggestion:
Make sure the powervalves are fully open when you are taking your plug readings (WOT, rated RPM). They start to open around 6500 rpm on an M8, and I'm guessing around 6000 rpm on a M1000. If you take the plug color readings between 6000 and 7000 the plugs are going to look very lean. I mistakenly tried to tune it out by adding more and more fuel. But I could never get the plugs past very light gray, no matter how much fuel I added.
