2009 M1000 dying at an idle

I have been loving my new M1000 but I am concerned about the engine dying when I come down from a hi rpm to an idle. It starts back up and goes but it almost seems like it may be lean and going into a detination mode. Right now I am just scratching my head. Any ideas??

Mine was running 1150* on the egts at full throttle, but for some reason scuffed the pto piston on the front side like a cold seize, happened while beating the trail. the hottest the egt gets is about 1212* around 6150rpm.
Made it harder starting and a rough idle. Sled is stock egts are just for testing.

Same thing here on my M1000. Had to install a EFI control box to get the lean spot at 6100 under control. Now I am seeing 1150 or so at 6100 and around 1100 WOT top end.

Without the box it burned down twice at 6100. Looked just like a four corner cold sieze.

this is what i did on my 2008 which had the same issues:

1. manually raised the idle speed to around 1800
2. leaned out the idle to -02 on my BD box.

It now starts easy every time, never does the weird high idle and die gig, and shakes WAY less at idle. Way better than before. :D

The dealer states if I put a programmer box on it will void warranty so I am trying to keep this machine stock until I know it is working properly. Is there anything I can do to correct this issue without a programmer box??

And I say it again,

Make sure the throttle cable is not too tight. Add a little more play and you should be good to go.

Mine did this as well on the first ride and loosening the tension took care of the problem.

Then tell your dealer to do his job and fix the da#n thing, thats why he's a dealer isn't it. Or put the box and don't tell anyone and remove it if you go to the dealer.
