I am picking up a 2009 M-6. I guess I should have done my homework earlier but I think it's a good deal anyway.

What do I need to know about this machine? any good? any bad?

Does anybody know if this machine has a knock sensor like the -8?

thanks in advance,

Chris

What?? nobody on here will admit that they own a 600??

Surely somebody has a friend and his wife 's machine is a m-6, and you heard.....

well, i almost bought an 08 m6 153 for 4500 w/250miles on it. They go for a freakin steal on here because no one wants less than a 700 :D

MY wife rides a 08 m6 I put a electric start for her she loves the sled no problems for
1300 miles on same belt it's got good power wont beat 800 or 1000 but it's fun and climbs well.

heres a funny story...........

Rode with a new group all day, one guy was riding a blacked out M-8. We all went to the same places, same snow, all got stuck, climbed the same places.

At the end of the day, I learned it was a M6 without any decals !

If I could have afforded it I would have bought the wife a m6

There is no real advantage to the M6 especially with a turbo. The M6 is actually 2 lbs heaver than the M8 and a lot less power. I was looking at one when I bought my girlfriend her sled and I ended up getting her an M7, it was lighter than the M6 and M8 and ran or out ran my M8 stock to stock.

Cost..........the m7 won hands down ,did the same !

I like my M6. Been pretty bulletproof. Only thing i replaced was a recoil. Price was right when i bought it, and got me riding again. When money gets better ill have a M8 though.

My wife rides the M6 now, but I bought it new for me as a holdover in 07. I agree with others, this sled is bulletproof, and I think it has good power for a 600. The only thing I have done was to ceramic coat the exhaust, but I think this year I am adding a can, the 10.4 secondary upgrade, and the Float rear suspension upgrade.
