2009 Last day of the trip

Just a incident near the K trail on the CD. Great visibility, nothing other then bad luck, wrong place at the wrong time, Friday the 13th, and now just some knee pain that is taking for ever to go away.

Hood hinge, bumper, carbides bent, steering post, steering hoop, left side panel, ignition key.

so uh, was the truck tailgate down at any point of the trip?;)

Looks like a bummer end to the trip.

Tailgate was only open to load and unload the gear thank you! Whoops and to get the fuel jug out because Casper to Shoshoni was further then expected with less then a 1/2 tank and wind.

Forgot to add, I was able to let off the throttle and think to myself as I came over the little rise that it was not going to be good and I hope for the best. Honestly when I seen it coming I was a bit nervous of not getting ejected over the bars. Thankfully I did.

I wish I could have went, but I'm tapped out with funds for a while now.

As for hitting the brake, I don't think I did, I think I just abrutly let off the throttle, don't think I had time for the brake.

As for sitting or standing, I'm not sure, I bet I was in-between as the deceleration and the slope to the hill probably started me on my upward tragetery.

I'm the one in the Klim gear way in the back of the photo by the sleds with the white head sock on. That is where I landed and was able to start standing and realizing what went on.

A buddy of mine did the exact same thing about two months ago. It took 4 of us about 30 minutes to dig him out. Glad your OK!

That's right, I forgot about the key in a way. It didn't do anything to my knee, I think the steel bars and steel steering post took care of that but it did cut my Klim bibs a bit. I will need to get those fixed before next season.
