2009 d8 bd turbo 10k plus runs horriable low end not bog.

had every flash done.
settings are 3000 -1-1-1 5000 0-0-0 psi 38-48-58
i have been all over the board with these number have two sleds running like this ready to trade for 2011 pro straight across.

I think you have the same/similiar problem that I am having. Mine will not idle about 8500' and the low end/idle is terrible. Once you get it up and going it runs great. Justin has been helping me figure this out. He thinks first I need to put in the 2009 flash, then try not running straight avgas. I am getting the flash put to the 2009 and he said that it should eliminate most of my problems. Depending on what injectors you have this is what flash the dealer needs to put in your sled. I am going to try this and I will report what I find.

2009 Superceded flashes
Blue-4012706
Red-4012705
Yellow-4012707

one sled has blue old flash one has yellow new flash they both suck. could it be something in a sensor? the one in air box? the one they deleted. where do you ride?above 6000 rpm i rip but still hit det with any map. but i dont care about that. i want low end like a factory sled.

Make sure you have your wiring as far as possible from the coils and spark plug wires.Do you have the boost calibration set to zero? The colors on the flash have to match the colors on the injectors. The 09 flash for the yellow injectors is the one to run with a bd kit with yellow injectors. Is your tps set correct? Gap your plugs right? Belt deflection correct? What octane and boost levels? That is some of the easy obvious stuff.

I ride 9500' and mine works above 2000 rpms. Below that it doesn't idle or run good. What is the history on these sleds. Have they ever run good? Is this the first time running them? If they have run good last year and this year they won't run, then you need to change your fuel filter, check/replace reeds, check/replace throttle body boots, change to the 2009 flash. This seems to be common problem that people have posted with sleds that ran good last year and are having problems this year.

I was having this same exact problem. poor throttle response below 5000rpm then it would flat out rip on top! I did everything flash, clutching, fuel, messed with the box. It all came down to my reeds being chipped an wore out not making a good seal. it sucks to get in there an look but i almost guarentee thats your problem

ok lets start with octane 110 boost 8 psi. plugs gapped right. wiring ok. have not done belt. they have always ran horriable from the get go.
can have reeds checked. at this point i'll try anything.

BD turbo Tuning

This a replied to a post I did a while ago. But I think it might help you. I have the 08 800 BD PG dragon with the mini cooler. The numbers I have been running are 3000 RPM Lo -2, mid 2, hi 0, 5000 rpm Lo 2, mid 2, hi 0, psi Lo 39, mid 47, hi 52. With my wires plugged in for premium fuel. My egts are at 1250 to 1280. Mine is still sputters a bit at low elevation but clears up around 2500 - 3000 ft. I lowered the 3000 lo # to -2 to help clean up the idle and try to help with hard starting when hot. The rest of the rpm #'s I would leave at the recommended #'s. That is the fuel for those rpm. If you are on boost you are usually above those rpm #'s. With your boost controller turned all the way down, start with your lo or partial throttle. Adjust you psi #'s only, until you get the throttle response and egt's were you want them. Then go to the mid throttle and then do the same, then wot. Do it in that order. Wot is the easiest to tune. Try to do this on a wide open area, good steady load with some good powder. After that is working good try increasing the boost and try that. That is what we did with some help from a friend that has built lot's of these turboed sled. Yes elevation, weather conditions seems to effect it abit but I found these numbers work pretty good for me. Also I did the same thing trying to tune out that sputter at low elevations. BD told me you will not be able to tune it out with what I have. Know they have a low boost actuator for low elevation available, so maybe that will work better. Good luck.

Man I feel for you. So here is my latest theory. I assume you have tried everything and checked everything 2 or 3 times. I also assume you have the 2010 head and pistons? Have you checked your compression? I did on mine and its like 90! If you have the 2010 head, your compression is probably pretty low. Maybe with such low compression your fuel is to high of octane and it's causing problems on the low end. Try doing 50 to 50 mix and see if you see any change. With the 2010 head I think the octane that we need is fairly low compared to the past. I bet you will see improvement. Just a thought. What do you think?

I don't have a BD setup but this was precisely my experience. After the update i ran straight 110 gas and it didnt run well at all on the bottom end. I was told to go back to the 2009 flash and that did not help one bit. I finally went to 91 non-ethanol pump gas with 25% 110. I also went to the Jan 2010 flash, changed my reeds, had the TPS re-set correctly, and it has run fantastic since then. If your reeds are not sealing, that creates a HUGE problem on the bottom end.

Hope this helps...cheers!

i too had a similar problem. i checked the exhaust valves and i had a broken spring that had rusted through over the summer.

water gets in the hole from and cant escape. this is the third time i have seen this this year.

if a turbo dragon is running funny, this is now the first thing i check. second being reeds boots etc.

Just a thought do you have NGK iridium plugs they do make a big difference for throttle response?

I do have to agree that your octane might be to high. I ride from around 8,000 to 10,000 and I run 50/50 mix with av gas and 91 at 8 to 10# seems to work good I do still have some lag but not real bad.

CB & LUV maybe check your exhaust valves also before you go out for the next trip. You will need a new gasket that your dealer should have in stock. Don't give up, you will get it!

if it is not your reeds or your powere valve it is possible that your throttle positioning sensor could be off a little. The dealer should be able to fix it in about 5 minutes with there computer. And I highly recommend not running straight race gas an go with av gas, it burns oxygen wich makes it a high altitude fuel, thats why plans use it!

yes they can go out with only 600 miles even only 205. It really sucks but it happened to me. the problem is that there is no lube whatsoever going to the reeds on a polaris just straight forced air, I think that is why they become so brittle an lose there tension, so with boost you are really hammering them. Boysen has a new turbo reed out right now that might work, I dont know I have not had much time on them yet. But atleast my bottom end sputtery bog is gone an right back to that stock roll on feel!
