2009 CrossFire Question

I have a 2009 crossfire 1000...... I added a DD firebreather with the K&N, reeds, and can.

Here is my Question. WHAT IS THE MOST ENGINE PERFORMANCE YOU CAN DO TO A EFI SLED WITHOUT ADDING A BOONDOCKER?

From talking with D&D and Bikeman I believe I am ok. I have been told 2009 (CF1000) runs fat stock from factory and these add on should be fine.

Tell me not to worry!

WHAT DO YOU THINK? OPINIONS OPINIONS OPINIONS

Every sled is different, don't assume that anything we tell you to do can be done on any sled.

I've got the exact same sled,
Look at my sig, almost 2k miles & ZERO issues, very healthy motor. no matter what you do, before you do it, get an egt or A/F, then add mods one at a time, and see if it works, if not, you can add a fuel reg or box or sell the last mod on SW!

We did mine one at a time & now it runs great down to 8500 or so, below 9k the egts start creeping above 1260 or so.

This has been the best sled I've owned, better overall feel than my last piped, ported, everything-ed 1000.

I also have an 09' Crossfire 1000; be real careful slapping a bunch of parts on all at once. I have always been weary of adding mods before the sled has been broken in. Once I have a sled broken in maybe start with a can if you want to loose some weight and gain some appealing sound. On my sled I do run a BD box, with my Y Pipe, can and reeds. I like the ability to change fuel mapping with just a push of a button. Read your piston wash to see if your kit is working for you. You can check you plugs after a good run but piston wash will always tell you the truth. Open air boxes are always tricky, I don't care where you ride, high or low. You always seem to have spots in the rpm range that are dead and can't be tuned out. But to each there own.. Good Luck..

My journey with my XF1000 has taken me down an educational road, I have it running just the way I like it now.. I only had to:
Change gearing to M8, to get the belt to run a one to one ratio in the clutches
Add power claw 141"
Two wheel axle kit
Add Vents all over to keep the heat down
add engine mounts to stop the engine from torquing
Heat shields and heat tape all over
Run heaver weights than expected
BDX 44-36 helix
Boyesen Reeds
BMP Y pipe
MBRP can, that had to be reinforced welded, to many hp's and blew apart
BD box, with lots of trial and error on mapping

Greatly appreciate your feedback

Thanks for the feedback. I think am going to ditch the air box...run the can/reeds and stock air. I could not have been happier with this sled last year and hate to compromise the reliability factor.

Just do not have the time to tune as I did in the past.

thanks again.
