Looking at a 2008 RMK 700 155 track. all stock in decent shape.
Has 2408 miles and 1 small crack in side panel.
asking $3750.
Is that too many miles?
Feedback if I should pull the trigger and buy.

I'd pick it up and check the pistons/ throw in a set of rings

700 is a pretty solid sled motor

if that's his asking price you'd probably be able to get him to $3500. it's only $250 off but it should cover the pistons if you do it yourself. after seeing so many blown motors, pistons don't seem like a bad idea every 2K miles (or 500 miles if you have an 800 like me).:face-icon-small-win

I have an 08 d7 and love it put a thousand miles on last winter and it now has 2300 miles and is ready for another season.

That is a great price. 700 CFI motors last until 6k+ with normal maintinince. You may want to do the pistons at 4-5k miles just to be safe. The price is great, you would be better off at the $3300 range. Be sure to check shocks, and a arms, as well as the seat and track. Be sure it has a clean title. Best of luck, Gabriel.

Thanks for the feedback

Thanks guys for the feedback. Ended up finding a 2007 RMK Dragon 155 with 539 miles on it. Sweet sled no damage, stock with the exception of SLP can. Bring on the snow

You scored on a great sled (slightly biased opinion) with hardly any miles, heck it's not even broken in yet. Make sure you go over everything and have your dealer check the VIN to make sure the factory recalls and updates were done (there was a re-flash, metal support for the plastic chain-case, etc). I would have the shocks serviced or replaced, they were known to be very soft and undercharged in '07 and needed more pressure.

Congrats... the 'little 700' is quite the over-achiever... don't be surprised if it plays right with other 800s you may ride with.:D:beer;

Thanks

:face-icon-small-coo Over at the dealer now getting the last 2 service bulletins done. Thanks for the advice on the shocks, having them give it the once over as it has been sitting for a bit. Never thought I would say, can't wait till summer is over.

My Dragon 700 has been absolutely problem free for the 1700miles that I have owned the sled, it has 2200 total. The ONLY thing this sled has required was a TPS adjustment about 200miles ago. The 700 is an amazing motor.

J 5544:

Good find on the Poo 700. Had an '08 700 Dragon and an '09 700 RMK with zero issues on either one. Should have kept the '09 for a back-up. All I did to either one was throw on a SLP can, some gearing changes, tweaked the clutches a little and did Rob's track-trimming on the nubs. Also replaced the WE air shocks on the Dragon with the Ryde FX'ers. Those WE's were too soft. Great motors. Still wish Poo would throw a 700 at the PRO.

Good luck with the new ride.
