2008 RMK 600 Blown Fix or Salvage?

Motor blew on my 2008 RMK 600 Carb. Trying to decide to fix or salvage.

If I fix how much do you think a new motor will cost and the best place to find one?

OR

If I salvage how much should I expect to get and where is the best place to salvage?

Live in the Minneapolis MN metro.

Thanks for the help!

Riding partner lost a bearing in his 2008 600 CFI and it damaged the crank. He was closer to $2K when he got it back to running. We joked that he would have been cheaper to have picked up a take-out 600 at the swap meet for $1600 the year before but who knew.

Be realistic about what it will cost, hard to say without knowing what damage there is. I can't imagine the salvage value being all that high, but I'm on the West Coast.

contact Josh at jwsnoweld.com he might have what you need, if not he can build it. He's up by Cambridge.

I blew up my carbed 600 last winter. I almost parked it for good. Super easy to rebuild. Utah crankshaft was $450. Gaskets were $100. I had already put in new Pistons so I saved the $300. Some odds and ends prob another $200. I rebuilt it before it blew so I knew what the damage was- now I know how to rebuild a two stroke!

And still running good 300 miles later
