2008 Rev Xp Gauge Problem.

I went riding yesterday and everthing was running good, then my gauge was reading COMMUNICATION FAILURE across the screen with no other info showing. Shut off and re-started seemed to be fine after that, any opinions on what is going on, this is the second time it's happened. On a GOOD note my XP rocks.

Mine did the same ,took it to dealer and he unpluged the computer put some eletric grease on the conector and pluged it back in proplem solved.
He said you have to be real carful with the pins in the plug they bend real easy.
Don't know if thats your problem but it seems to have fixed mine.

I had the same problem "Communication Error" I had the sled in for the grips and a error code on the dash. The dealer said it was a loose connection, and it hasn`t happen since.

There is a red/blue wire that is the main power source for the gauge that runs just behind the muffler. There is a note about it in the BRP news dated Jan 9, 08. I guess the wire is chaffing against a rivet/frame. It causes power loss and eratic behaviour on the cluster. Also there is updated buttons for the M and S dash buttons.

Does anybody's reset the trip, hr ect. on its own? Mine seems to loose the trip a/b and the hr some of the time.
