2008 or 2009

Looking at getting rid of my 07 144 to get a 08 or 09 154. Do I get a 08 left over and "hope" the upgrades have been done or do I go for a 09. Have the 08 problems been fixed for 09? What are your thoughts????

Personally I'd go 09, I know several that are still having problems with the 08. Just my 2cents.

Ya the 08 was a typical first year model. The 09 will be better, enough better to offset the little discount you would get by buying a holdover imo

I think the 09's are getting better clutching!? Just what i've heard:-)

All the updates on the 08 should be fixed at no charge, except for the drive line. You can buy an aftermarket one for around $150. If you can save $1000 to $1500 or so, I'd buy the 08, and you can get a can, some new skis, and a few other goodies. Buy a DJ clutch kit, and you shouldn't have any problems. Just make sure your dealer takes care of everything before you pick it up.

You could buy a leftover 08 for $1500-$2000 less than a 09 and upgrade the clutch, doo some alignment and some other tuning for maybe $500-$700 and pocket maybe a $1000 but the sled will still only be worth what you paid for it and still won't be as refined as the 09. If money is tight you can doo the 08 but as for value the 09 will be an overall better value and you should be able to doo more riding and less tweeking.

The 09's are getting a clutch setup that is almost identical to that of the Yamaha. Had very good luck with theirs. They run the same belts for the mountain max, apex, and nytro. we only went through one belt last year on a stock apex. Everything holds up really well. We're looking @ adding an XP to the family this coming year(09). Just like any new sled, they all have their hiccups:-)

Aftermarket Replacement?

Tell me about the aftermarket driveline? I have heard of the reinforcement kit from Avid, but not an aftermarket replacement. Help me out, I am interested.

Does anyone have a complete list of updates and/or refinements?

I wish the manufacturers would just put a complete list up updates on their site.
