2008 M8 153" clutching with SLP pipe set

Hey guys, I am looking for some help clutching on my 08 M8 153. This is the link in the M section: http://www.snowestonline.com/forum/showthread.php?t=270200 and my latest questions

Hey there.I am resurecting an old thread here. So,I have decided that I will be buying the SLP pipe kit for my M8 as well as an intake to help with the bogging in deep pow/improved air flow.

A couple question I still can find the answer to by doing searches so maybe i'll get lucky. I have no clutching knowledge but trying to learn so bear with me!!!

1: In regards to clutching, do I need to clutch after the pipe install or will it work fine with stock clutching I have now (6000-9000 ft) and clutch later? Basically do I need to clutch after the pipe is on.

2: Do I need to mess with both the secondary and primary?.. Can I just add/subtract weight from the primary? (Maybe buy adjustable weights)

3: I am pulling around 78-7900 now so when I pipe it, will my rpm increase or decrease when add the pipe kit?

4: Is there anyone out there that runs a similar set up to mine and what have you done to make it run great...08 M8 stock (soon to be SLP pipe kit and intake),clutched for 6000-9000 ft by stock clutching methods from previous owner? I ride from 3500 to 8000 feet. I would like to know the clutch set up with the only mod being a SLP pipe kit and intake.

Any help is appreciated.

Cheers

Thanks again

Hi there, hope I can help a bit. I don't know much about clutching either but have the following mods, similar to yours. Slp y pipe, pipe, mbrp can, slp intake, vforce reeds and a power commander v. My sled, like yours is stock clutching and set up for 6000-9000 ft. I pull around 8050, or 8100 rpm and ride right around the 6000 ft mark mostly. My sled pulls hard, seems to have no issues and although I am sure there are some clutching mods that could make it even better, rest assured that this setup is good.

Also, I got in touch with slp and they recommend using the stock setup mapping with their pipe set and air intake, much to the surprise of many. I had that setup for a while and it was also good, the PCV was just a nice add and seemed to smooth out the power and it does pull a bit harder on top.

Hope that helps, if anyone has any suggestions please let us know. I am also interested in some quick mods that might make my cat even sweeter.
