2008 M1000 Intake

I just bought a 2008 M1000 and have read just about every thread on here containing the phrase 'M1000':beer; Lots of opinions out there.

Was looking to do something with the stock intake. Already have the side vents from Fastlane and a few of the smaller vents for the shock area and the mesh screens for the nose cone from BDX on order. Have read all the reviews on the BDX, SW, CPC, Timbersled intakes. They all seem more than I am looking for. I like the BDX for its price and seems like everyone is in favor of it but I can't get myself to drill holes in my bellypan and toss a vent over it, seems like trees would destroy that investment fast (even though people swear it won't)

I have stumbled upon the "SnoPro Mesh Intake" in one of the threads here. If I understand this it simply replaces the stock airbox with a mesh one, am I correct? This seems more up my alley. Again, I'm no expert as I just came over from Polaris.

Looking for any input you guys can throw at me as far as how the SnoPro Mesh Intake works and what it involves to install and if it works. Also I've read about the bra for the nose cone and that they really work at keeping snow out engine compartment, true, info?

Thanks in advance. :beer;:)

My '08 M8 has a D&D Firebreather intake on it. I don't have any opinion on how they work yet; but the Timbersled, and the D&D are very similar. A cheaper option is the SLP intake.:beer;

I tried the BDX, the AC snopro and the Timbersled on my 07 M10. They were all a good product, but the draw back to the BDX and the snopro was that I thought it I could hear more "sucking" with those two. The T-sled looked better to me and I didn't notice the noise. I only wish that I would have tried the T-sled first before and now I don't need it because I've gone turbo.

Have you looked into the SLP intake for the M1000? Put this on my sled last year after trying the sno pro airbox, worked very good, didn't make the sled too loud and it took care of the stupid Arctic Cat bog. Very east to install, took total of about an hour.

easy install snopro airbox you will need to cut 2 wires & drill 3 wholes
connect 2 wires back together screw in 2 screws on snopro air box i made a bracket to put brain on top new air box. good to go don't get any lighter does make noise but so does my intake on my diesel
love the sound......:beer;:beer;:beer;:eek::confused::D:beer;:beer;

The local shop here is not a big fan of the SLP intake, but again I have no opinion either way as I haven't tried any of them.

Never looked into the D&D Intake, not mentioned a whole lot around these threads from what I've read.
