I have an opportunity to pick one of these up for a good price. I am wondering if there were any problems with them. Looking for reliability mainly. I know about the clutching issues last year, what set up did you guys run?:beer;

They all got problems. Pick your favorite color:D I had guage issues. Skid transfer problems, and the on-going clutching battle. Most issues worked out after a season of tinkering. I would buy another one.

i rented one it was a 08 m1000 sno pro 162 and every time i carved to the exhaust side it would choke out and throw me over the handle bars. It went for many jumps without a driver. awesome sled but that problem really makes for a bad ride

still a good one to look at

Only problem is with the M1000 is that the Xp's and dragons cannot keep up.
Always seem to be waiting on them.....:musicnote:

Now that I got that out..
There has been small issues but in 2008 alot were addressed- and a better all around sled.... clutching and transfer were the most pinpointed along with a fuel program that worked.

Hey RockyMtn.Kris,what did you do to perk up the clutching? I,m thinking your riding conditions are similar to ours and that your setup would work here.

Ill have to get back to you on that. Made too many changes to remember the last setup. I am using CPC adjustable weights and roller secondary. Switched from the 060 to 046 belt. Tried to make it work all season with stock tall gearing. not quite satisfied yet, I will spend more time this season and post my progress on the M1000 clutching thread.

Go For It

I rode with 5 buddies last year who had 07 and 08 M1000s. They never had any issues. My 07 Summit ripped and I couldn't keep up. I am picking up my 09 M1000 le tomorrow. The prices on the 08s is awesome. 10,600 for a 153 and 10,800 for a 162 (Alberta).

yeah, I have found non-snopro 08's 1000's (brand new) $9700 cash for a 153 plus freight & PDI (Edmonton, Alberta).

Thanks for the heads up jcb! Now I'm thinking its maybe not as good a deal as I thought! I should print this off and show them if I get serious about it.
